Steve Kinsella has been a driving force in the SF Bay Area film and stage arenas for over 30 years. He began Brentwood Teen Theater 22 years ago and has been lucky enough to have directed hundreds of wonderfully talented young actors in this program. He is also the president of Broadway Repertory Theater. Mr. Kinsella is 1 of 12 musically gifted siblings. He is a national presenter of workshops and teaches voice and acting privately in Brentwood.
The story of Anastasia is based in history, facts and rumors. The concept of the survival of the Tsar's youngest daughter has long been the subject of plays, books and finally a musical. I think the writers did an excellent job capturing the complexities of the legend and the dynamics of the characters with beautiful and engaging melodies and powerfully emotional scenes.
I feel that young people who are engaged in theater are going to have a better life due to their ability to express themselves and think quickly on their feet, and I truly appreciate all these young actors for their talent and dedication.
I thank all parents for their encouragement toward their kids and for volunteering to help wherever they could. You are the backbone of this production.
Special thanks to Fabulous Feet Dance Studio of Brentwood for loaning us their spectacular dancers and for the dynamite choreography segments (ballet and Charleston).
Also special thanks to Delia Colorado, Laura Everhart, Jenny Richardson, Don Stone, Deliana Rubio and Robert Cataldo for their special contribution to the show. It is very much appreciated and couldn’t have done it without you.
